Steve's commitment to continuous growth and development understands that we are part of a bigger picture. Feel encouraged to explore some of the causes that have been important to us.

Habitat for Humanity has been helping put a roof over the heads of those that needed them most since 1976. We support that cause by donating salvage and leftover building fixtures and materials to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore to help fund new homes for families. The ReStore also serves as a win/win wholesaler of excess construction materials helping the do-it-yourselfer do more with less. We encourage you to explore the many ways to participate in the Habitat for Humanity vision.

Home Repair Services strengthens vulnerable Kent County homeowners because strong homeowners build strong communities.

Home Repair Services offers Do-it-yourself classes, kitchen and bath remodeling help, emergency home repairs, financial counseling, and foreclosure intervention.

Steve has found satisfaction over the years volunteering to teach community classes on window replacement helping to lower costs and protect the environment.

OLLI at

The Osher Institute is a membership-based, lifelong learning program that offers a wide variety of college-level, non-credit lectures, short courses, and special events for intellectually curious adults over age 50.

In addition to being a participant, Steve has been invited to speak twice on the topic of interpersonal communication for the program and is in the process of writing a book on the same topic.

Steve attended a 3-day training in Pittsburgh, conducted by Al Gore and his team and became a member of the Climate Reality Leadership Core. Steve shares these skills as a resource in Grand Rapids by speaking and reaching out to influencers in the community.
